The AGS online Plant Encyclopaedia : This is a natural hybrid between S. cotyledon 'Pyramidalis' and S. paniculata which occurs in the Pyrenees and the central Alps. It is closer to S. cotyledon. Leaves large and strap-shaped, 4-6cm long and broadening towards their apices. Flowering stems 30cm high branching almost from their bases and carrying many white flowers spotted red, petals 7mm long. The same cross has produced S. X timbalii.
